Title

We don't have to be big to make a difference

When my teammate, Lynwood and I selected our topic – “You don’t have to be big to make a difference”, we thought that we should find people who were not very successful but contributed a lot to society. We decided to start the presentation by bringing up Earth Hour since it was such a big event. Then we pinned down some examples to support the chosen topic.
One of our biggest challenges was finding perfect examples that fit the topic. We started surfing the Internet to look for information with suitable examples. We used platforms such as Wikipedia, YouTube and Google. Once we found our examples, we needed to write their stories in short and precise phrases. We combined the information we found on the platforms and converted them into short paragraphs.
We also experienced failures during the process. One of them was that we couldn’t find much information from certain examples because some YouTube videos did not provide the names of the people mentioned. We dealt with it by finding little details and phrases we saw in the video. After researching for a long time, we finally found out their names and could easily find their corresponding information.
My piece of advice for my peers is “Never give up”. When you think of an idea which is suitable for your presentation, you should try your best to figure out the information you require. It might take a while or even longer than expected, but you will surely be proud of your achievement. Even if you think it is hard to start or continue, keep on working hard and you will meet your expectations one day.
